What is parafoveal retinal telangiectasia?

Also called juxtafoveal telangiectasia, this is when you have a localized area of capillary telangiectasia around the fovea that can lead to leakage and decreased vision (similar to CME). It’s broken into three groups. The first group is similar to Coat’s disease in that it tends to occur in males, occur in only one eye, and may be amenable to treatment. Group two and three are bilateral and less amenable to laser treatment.
