What were the results of the Endophthalmitis-Vitrectomy Study?

The results of the EVS were as follows:
1. There isn’t any difference in final visual acuity whether the patient received systemic antibiotics or not
2. Hand motion or better acuity did just as well with tap-inject versus vitrectomy
3. Eyes with LP only vision did better with vitrectomy

Keep in mind that the antibiotics used at the time are not current and that this applies to cataract-related endophthalmitis.
