What should you consider if a patient develops endophthalmitis after yag capsulotomy?

Propionibacterium acnes is a slow-growing anaerobic bacteria found in hair-follicles and used in the cheese-making industry. It has a propensity for the lens capsule, and can give a characteristic white plaque at this level. It is very slow growing and a cause for late endophthalmitis. People with history of P. acnes endophthalmitis can sometimes develop a recurrence after a Yag capsulotomy.
